About this worksheet
A reflexive pronoun points back to someone already named in the sentence: Grandpa fixed the gate himself. They all end in -self or -selves.
The word in parentheses tells the child who the sentence is about, so the job is matching the pronoun to it.
A worked example
Grandpa fixed the squeaky gate ___. (he)
- The word in parentheses is he.
- He becomes himself.
- Write himself on the line.
Answer: himself
The common mistake
What it looks like: Writing "hisself" or "theirselves".
Why it happens: Children hear these forms in speech, and they follow the pattern of myself and yourself.
How to fix it: Learn the two that break the pattern: he becomes himself and they becomes themselves.
Ten minutes a day, on paper. We plan what comes next.
A printed page and a pencil. No screen, no login for your child. Snap a photo when they’re done: AI scores it, and what they missed comes back on the sheets that follow.
